Can You Plug a Guitar Into Art Pro Mpa Ii

Hi there,

Planning to buy this preamp but I take some questions. Tin I plug my electric guitar correct into the instrument input in order to alter the sound with plugins like Guitar Rig and IR loader in my DAW ? Is it a mutual manner to proceed or should I switch to a preamp made specially for guitar ?

If anyone is using this gear (or the aforementioned type) this way, I'd be pleased to know their thoughts on this.

I use mine with my guitar into amplitube2 and vintage amp room and I detect information technology sounds pretty good, I find I like information technology better equally a bass d.i but it sounds expert on guitar likewise. I compared it to the d.i on my interface (focusrite scarlett 18i6) and some cheap no proper noun d.i box and found it (fine art pro) to be amend than both.

Information technology works fine as a guitar D.I. - no need to buy a guitar-specific preamp. I'm assuming y'all already have an interface to your reckoner/DAW?

I do take one yes. I have a Saffire 24 Pro DSP. Corking soundcard but I have clipping and headroom problems. I utilize a lot of plugins like Guitar Rig or Lepou with impulses.
I was planning to get a Laney Irt Studio but it seems to me that it is likewise metal oriented.

I take ane and I find that I like information technology much more if I put a radial dragster in front of information technology, to increase the input impedance. I usually run one of two guitars into it, a telecaster with joe barden pickups and an archtop with a p-90-ish single whorl pickup. Both of them sound better with the Dragster in the circuit.

Impedance matches are hit and miss--your guitar might beloved it every bit is. but the variable impedance knob on the Fine art only effects the mic in, not the DI. It might sound cracking right out to the box

It's a good unit. I only ever employ it with the loftier voltage switch engaged, considering i don remember it sounds that good overdriven hard.

In my experience, a mic'ed cab generally sounds better than direct, and I oftentimes record direct then reamp the bespeak

Here's a silly lilliputian instrumental that was recorded all direct through the Art--bass and 2 different guitars. The solo has a piddling fleck of amp sim on it, but the melody and chords are clean through the ART. I used the Radial Dragster on there considering otherwise I get a trivial scrap of a plinky, thin quality I tin can't eq out.

The interface is just an apogee duet 2

Just for the record: I use this preamp when reamping my guitars. On the "high plate voltage" setting, it has a dainty tube sound just remains fairly precise. When recording the direct signal from the guitar though, I use a Radial J48 active straight box hooked to the preamp of my Presonus Firepod. Gives a LOT of dynamic range. Not sure I would utilize the MPAII for the direct audio though, especially if I want to reamp it, the tubes will eat up a scrap of the transient. But if you go through some kind of Amplitube within the box, that will give a very interesting fuller sound to the software emulators.

With a Korg d1200?

Can this software somehow work due west a Korg 1200 DAW? If non I would really similar to know if at that place is any possible way to connect a plugin. I take the mpa ii preamp and have been recording direct into the hullo-z stereo input from my stereo pedals. I similar the sound but would like to get realistic amp tones. Thanks.
